Do you fancy an adventurous dining experience?
When it comes to culinary experiences, there are several unique and popular ones, from Japanese Teppanyaki restaurants to ice hotels and restaurants in Scandinavia.
None of these offers hair-raising experience as “Dinner in the Sky”.
Good news for fans of this adventurous food experience is that it is back in the UAE, after a 3-year absence since its last visit in 2013.
More than a Gimmick
The concept of Dinner in the Sky was first launched in over ten years ago by Belgian entrepreneur David Ghysles and Stefan Kerkhofs
You will be hoisted up by a crane on a suspended platform nearly 50 metres in the air to spectacular views and then served an excellent evening dinner cooked in front of you.
Although it may seem to the casual observer as a great gimmick, Dinner is the Sky is much more than that. Yes, you are harnessed in your seat as a safety precaution, then the entire platform with your dinner table is hoisted by crane up to 50 metres in the air, but it is much more than that.
The food is of the highest quality and is prepared for you at your table by a highly-trained chef. The combination of fantastic food and unique views has made this concept a roaring success.
Dinner in the Sky has spread to over 40 countries worldwide, including some of the world food capitals like Paris, New York, and London.
According to Ahmed Ishbair, Owner and CEO at Dinner in the Sky in the UAE, “The concept combines a perfect balance of fine dining, exquisite views, excitement and theatre into one completely unique and breathtaking experience.”
The highest levels of safety precautions are taken during the event, with the guests being secured in their seats, but also the chefs being secured with a safety harness to ensure maximum security.
Sky Dining Dubai
The event will take place in Dubai in the coming few weeks, although the dates have not been announced yet.
It is scheduled to take place at the beautiful Habtoor Grand Resort, Autograph Collection. As soon as the booking page is live, you can book your Brunch, Lunch, or Dinner from the Dinner in the Sky website. If you want to impress clients and business associates, Dinner in the Sky could be the way forward with the possibility of booking entire corporate dinners with the company.
This is an opportunity to try something that is unique and does not come around that often. If you like food and great views (who does not?), then take your next dinner or lunch in the Sky.
Have your tried Dinner in the Sky before? Did you experience it the last time it happened in Dubai in 2013? I would love to hear from you!
