At the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, Dubai plans to unveil its new green strategy for a cleaner world.
The fifth annual ADSW will start on Thursday, January 12, and ends on Saturday, January 21, 2017.
This year’s event will play host to the World Future Energy Summit, with aims to concentrate debate on finding solutions to the challenges facing the world regarding energy sustainability.
The Dubai Expo 2020 Plan
Dubai plans to take advantage of the heavy-weight audience at the ADSW to test the waters of its new vision. At the ADSW Sustainability Pavilion, The city also plans to unveil some of its plans for the 4.38

The Dubai Expo stand at the ADSW will feature some great options and innovations designed to encourage debate, resolution, and action to help improve the global management of the planet.
In addition, experts and business leaders will be surveyed by the Expo members. The surveys plan to gain ideas and insights, which should all feed into the $100 million Expo Live programme aimed at encouraging and supporting global innovation.
Yousuf Caires, the Vice President of the Expo 2020 Dubai, will be available for comment and opinions during the ADSW. Marjan Faraidooni, the Vice President of Legacy Impact and Development for the Expo, stated that “Expo 2020 Dubai’s participation in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a natural fit as it’s a strategic international event highlighting the progressive sustainability agenda of the UAE.”
The Sustainability Pavilion
As with a lot of the mega projects in the UAE, the plan for the Sustainability Pavilion is well ahead of schedule. The goal is to have the Pavilion completed by more than a year prior to the start of the Expo in 2020, which is scheduled to open to the general public on October 20, 2020.
This is definitely another feather in the cap of Dubai’s green credentials. It shows a clear dedication to a sustainable clean future for our planet. It is especially commendable to see a country whose wealth was initially built on oil revenues, to take the bold step needed to achieve a greener, cleaner planet.
