The United Arab Emirates as a country and Dubai specifically are world leaders in innovation in the aviation industry; from cutting-edge services and seating on board Emirates and Etihad to ground-breaking initiatives at Dubai Duty-Free.
Well, Dubai South has taken this innovative strategy a step further with the opening of the largest VIP terminal in the world.
Largest VIP Terminal in the World Opens in Dubai
The new terminal building is 5,600 square metres of luxury and convenience located at Al Maktoum International Airport. The terminal is an architectural masterpiece with sweeping lines that emulate the wings of the many aircrafts that will be using the building.
The highest level of care and attention to detail has been taken in crafting a truly luxurious and efficient environment and experience for today’s VIP travellers. Located in the seven square kilometres of the aviation district, the new home of the Dubai Air Show, the terminal adds another feather in the cap of an area designed to cater to every aspect of the aviation industry.
The terminal plans to offer travellers levels of connectivity and service hitherto unheard of in the airline industry. It is a great addition to the world’s first master planned airport city Dubai South, and further enhance Dubai’s reputation as the leading global aviation hub.
Although the Dubai airports currently have world-class facilities and lounges at Dubai International and Al Maktoum International, the new purposely-built terminal will be a game changer for Business travellers.
It will offer an experience that is integrated and smooth throughout their entire time at the terminal.
Since its soft opening, the terminal has three companies operating out of it; Jet Aviation, Jetex, and Flacon Aviation. The inaugural flight took off in April this year with the departure of the first private jet from the airport.
In 2016, there have been 1,000 flights in and out of the terminal so far. In 2017, the expected growth is huge with nearly 4,000 flights supposed to use the new terminal.
Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum opened the new terminal.
The opening of the largest VIP terminal in the world is a significant development and achievement for the Emirate of Dubai, and it will only serve to enhance and concretise its growing position in the world aviation market. It is another step towards Dubai becoming the premier aviation hub in the region, as well as a global powerhouse.
